October 1st marks the beginning of one of the largest health campaigns in the world, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual initiative that seeks to increase attention and support for this disease as well as promote regular screenings.
Although the pandemic has put a halt to many in-person events such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, there are still many ways to support the cause.

The first step to spreading awareness about any subject is knowing the facts. Or that breast cancer is the most common cancer amongst women worldwide?
The Centers for Disease and Control Prevention and the National Cancer Institute are two reliable sources you can use to get facts and information to share with others.
Wear Pink
Probably the easiest way to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month is by wearing pink. Pink ribbons, and pink in general, are some of the more powerful symbols of this initiative, with many organizations “going pink” each October to join the cause. A little wardrobe change won’t hurt and it is a small but meaningful way to participate in this important movement.
