CAR WRAPS DESIGNED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE: CRA CUSTOM AND THE SHOWER OF HOPE

A primary concern with homelessness in our society is awareness, and CRA Custom car wraps strive to provide a solution. One of the core values of CRA Custom is lending a helping hand to those who need it and giving back to the community whenever we can. That’s why we decided to team up with The Shower of Hope project to collaborate on car wraps designed to display their purpose: providing people experiencing homelessness with free mobile shower service. As a result, we give these people the chance to stay clean and healthy, helping them become more confident and giving them dignity. These qualities are essential when looking to integrate back into society.

CRA Custom collaborated with fully customized car wraps, which will make it easy for people to spot their trailer from a distance and know that they have the chance to clean up for free. Besides, people experiencing homelessness also have access to warm meals and counseling, with a team of professionals willing to manage their cases and help them find affordable housing and employment options.

Car wraps have proven to attract local attention, and both parties wanted as many people as possible to have the opportunity to stay clean and receive aid. Thanks to The Shower of Hope project, the most vulnerable population gets to see themselves as part of a supportive, welcoming, and embracing community.

CR&A Custom Car Wraps and The Shower of Hope

The Shower of Hope is a non-profit organization that started in 2017. The organization partners with communities and volunteers in order to restore hope, dignity, and well-being to individuals who are experiencing homelessness. This project offers free showers, toiletries, and support, which allows people to get back on their feet, giving them a second chance, and enabling them to integrate back into society. During the first year of operations of this project, it managed to expand to eight different cities, including Highland Park, Huntington Park, East Pasadena, South Pasadena, Montebello, Gardena, Boyle Heights, and Hollywood.

Despite their success, The Shower of Hope has faced several challenges and obstacles that they have managed to overcome. For example, it is common to encounter individuals who are hesitant to utilize their service, particularly those with children experiencing homelessness. This hesitancy arises because this vulnerable group often feels marginalized, and the offer of free hygiene products and services exacerbates these feelings of vulnerability and marginalization. Consequently, they are inclined to decline free showers and toiletries.

Nonetheless, the projects in cities like Highland Park, South Pasadena, and Huntington Park have actually noticed a huge change in the attitude and perception of the service by those who take advantage of the free showers. The expanded awareness that comes from their car wraps opens the door to more people in these local areas, increasing interest and willingness to participate. The Shower of Hope has had the opportunity to observe how people are more open and receptive to case management services offered on-site after having taken a shower. Therefore, this kind of service is not only a wanted resource but a much needed one too, especially in cities like Huntington Park.

The Shower of Hope depends on contributions from private donors, churches, and community-based organizations. They receive support via volunteering and donations of tangible items, including healthy food, water, clothing, and toiletries. CRA Custom wanted to be a part of this amazing project, so we collaborated with them and gave them customized car wraps at a very special rate.
